The Hospital Hill bushfire which started in the southern, remote area of the Namadgi National Park has been extinguished. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished in difficult forested terrain thanks to a range of air and ground firefighting tactics. The status of the Hospital Hill Fire has been changed to Patrol. The fire was quickly spotted and contained in difficult forested terrain thanks to a range of air and ground resources and reached 1/2 a hectare in size. Crews and helicopters will continue to patrol and monitor the fireground over the coming days. The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) advises the community that the Hospital Hill bushfire in the remote area of the Namadgi National Park, is under control. Today, favourable weather conditions assisted ACT firefighters working to extinguish the fire and build containment lines. The medium helicopter undertook waterbombing operations and the Specialist Intelligence Gathering (SIG) helicopter continued to monitor the Hospital Hill fire and fires close to our borders in surrounding NSW. Crews will patrol and monitor the Hospital Hill fire over the coming days. ESA will inform the community if the situation changes over the next 24 hours. Content: Our eyes in the sky, the Specialist Intelligence Gathering (SIG) helicopter, has been monitoring the fire near Hospital Hill, Namadgi National Park today.

The SIG has captured our crews on the ground working to extinguish the fire and build containment lines.

The medium helicopter has also undertaken waterbombing operations.

The glowing patches seen in the inferred footage are small active fires. The yellow patches indicate heat.

There is currently no threat to homes in the ACT from this fire activity.
