One way of doing this is by visiting schools and talking to teachers and students about what they can do to prepare for, respond to and recover from storms at school and at home. The ACTSES can also talk about the roles they play in the community and about what it is like to be a volunteer.
Visiting schools is a great way for the ACTSES to talk to kids about being a StormSafe Kid and how they can help their families, schools and community to become better prepared for, more responsive to and better able to recover from storms.
The ACTSES may be able to come and visit your school to:
- talk about storms and how to be prepared for, respond to and recover from them;
- talk about the roles that the ACTSES plays in emergencies; and
- demonstrate the range of equipment used in these events.
