Structure Fire - Emu Bank Drive, Belconnen

Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:15pm, firefighters from ACT Fire & Rescue responded to multiple Triple Zero (000) calls to black smoke issuing from a building on Emu Bank Drive, Belconnen.

Firefighters responded to the incident, which could be seen from some kilometres away. More than seven fire trucks responded supported by ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing.

Firefighters gained access to the building and located a fire on the 22^nd floor balcony. Crews quickly extinguished the fire resulting in no further spread throughout the building and minimal damage sustained.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
