UPDATE: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning has now been cancelled for the ACT
The Bureau of Meteorology have issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Canberra region, which are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall over the next several hours.
Overnight we have seen just over 30mm of rain at Canberra Airport leading to 15 requests for assistance. These jobs mainly consisted of leaking rooves and downed trees.
Our ACTSES volunteers are working to make a number of areas safe from these incidents, and will continue to respond to requests as they come in.
