Summer is well and truly here, with temperatures forecasted to reach close to 34 degrees over the weekend. The ACT Ambulance Service would like to remind you to:
- Drink water to stay hydrated
- Avoid strenuous physical activity in the heat
- Do not leave children or pets unattended in hot cars and
- Wear sensible clothing including a hat and sunscreen.
Call Emergency Triple Zero (000) for an ambulance if someone is showing signs of heat stress. Young children and the elderly are most vulnerable to heat stress. Signs for heat stress can include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fainting, weakness, headaches, and if sweating stops.
