ACT residents are advised that the current haze visible across the ACT is dust being carried by strong winds from Northern NSW.
There is no active fire threat in the ACT.
While Canberrans may be concerned about the dust, at this time ACT Health report that the particles are high up in the atmosphere and that the air quality at ground level is good. People with respiratory illnesses who are concerned can take the precaution of avoiding strenuous activity and to stay indoors with windows closed. For hourly updates on air quality, go to the ACT Health website.
