ACT Fire & Rescue is working to contain a gas leak in Greenway.
Firefighters were alerted to the incident on Soward Way at 8:12am after workers in the area ruptured an underground pipe while digging.
Three fire pumpers, a commander and hazmat are at the scene and occupants of the nearby Manning Clark building have been evacuated as a precaution.
Hazmat crews will conduct atmospheric monitoring in the building to ensure it is safe before allowing people back in.
ACTEW has been called-in and is currently assisting to seal-off the pipe.
