ACT Rural Fire Service will be undertaking a small ecological burn at Neville place in Latham at Umbagong Park tonight, Wednesday 4 May 2016, weather permitting.
The burn will be approximately 0.3 hectares in size and will begin at 7pm and continue until around 9pm this evening.
There will be two units and command vehicle attending.
Temporary smoke cover may occur in the area. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have breathing difficulties.
