A hazard burn will be conducted in Coombs tomorrow, Thursday 5 May 2016, weather permitting.
The burn will occur on the north side of the Molonglo River between the National Arboretum and Forest Drive.
The Territory and Muncipal Services (TAMS) Directorate has advised the grassland burn will be approximately 22 hectares
Temporary smoke cover may occur in the area. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have breathing difficulties.
