A two-year old boy was rushed to hospital tonight suffering from hypothermia and injuries after becoming caught in a stormwater drain in Tuggeranong.
The ACT Ambulance Service was called to the drain in Stace Street Gordon around 7:30.
As intensive care paramedics arrived, members of the public had just pulled the boy out of the drain.
He was immediately treated for hypothermia as well as bumps and bruises then transported to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
Paramedics were told by onlookers that the boy had kept himself afloat by using strokes he had recently learned at swimming lessons.
