Firefighters have managed to save a house from catching alight after a garage attached to the property became engulfed in flames.
Quick work by ACT Fire & Rescue crews managed to contain the fire to the double garage which contained two vehicles.
A search of the roof space has confirmed the fire did not spread into the home. Two occupants of the house were alerted to the fire by a neighbour and safely self evacuated.
Firefighters have extinguished the fire and now removed the roller doors to help ventilate the property.
The cause is unknown at this time.
The initial estimated damage bill is over $100,000 including the vehicles.
