A hazard burn will be conducted today at Isaacs Ridge, east of Yamba Drive and west of Mugga Lane.
The Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) Directorate has advised the burn will be undertaken to remove remove vegetiation debris and protect radio towers.
It is normal for stumps and heavy logs to continue to smoke and some flames may be visible in the interior of the burn after personnel have left the scene.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties
