Two hazard reduction burns are planned for tomorrow, Thursday, March 20, weather permitting.
A 13.5 hectare burn will take place in bushland around Aranda and a five hectare burn will be conducted at Gossan Hill in Bruce.
The ACT Handy Map grid references for the burns are K11 for Aranda and Gossan Hill.
Further burns may be conducted in the ACT on Friday as well.
Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
