Storm and Flood Assistance
The ACT Rural Fire Service will tomorrow, Sunday 22 September, 2013, assist a private landholder with an agricultural burn on the property "Spring Valley", Uriarra Road, Mt Stromlo.
The burn will commence from 11am and is expected to finish at approximately 4pm.
Two heavy tankers and eight personnel will conduct the burn.
The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is I12.
Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in
weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory
and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay
inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their
medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
